THE DIVINITY OF JESUS CHRIST – YAHSHUA

Is Jesus Christ – Yahshua, God? Jesus said: “I and the Father, are one” John 10:30. The Divinity of Jesus Christ is fundamental in Christian Biblical Theology. In the canonical Gospels we find the eternity and the divinity of the Son of God, but it is the Trinity which unites the concepts of monotheism with three Persons in the Deity, whose name was revealed to us with the letters YHWH. But John continues to provide key revelation, such as the Word, referring to the Father and to the Son, being God became flesh and dwelt among us; John 1:14. In this Christmas Bible Study we will see that Jesus is God made man, not a man who was made God, John 16:25-33. To see Jesus as God Himself in human form changes everything from the perspective of the faith. However, unfortunately many continue in Arianism, the believe that Jesus is only the Son of God, but not eternal, and created by the God the Father, and without divine attributes. This false doctrine under the light of Biblical Christian doctrine, it is not what the Lord Jesus Christ taught. We shall see how the divinity of the Child Jesus is, the divinity of the Son of God, this Christmas, 1700 years after the I Council of Nicaea, where the Christianity of the time debated and concluded the divinity and eternity of the Son.
Christmas, or the celebration of the virginal birth of that Child that was God becoming man, reminds us the greatest event of history, that precisely, that the creator God has made Himself like one of us, has shared our humanity, has suffered our passions and temptations, and has shown us to what degree He is committed in His love for man, and He calls us to live eternally in His kingdom, a kingdom of justice, peace and blessing where His Son is the King of Kings.
Already the prophets, like Issaiah foretold us that: That Child which was born to us, Son is given us, and His name would be: Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace; prophecy of Isaiah 9:6.
For His Resurrection, His miracles, His ascension, His return, His permanence in the throne of glory, from where He came, we have the Creator of the universe who became a man in the Child Jesus and lived among us as Jesus of Nazareth. AGAINST ARIANISM
We cannot start without remembering that already at the beginning of the Christian era, one of the great debates was against the heresy of a priest from Alexandria called Arius, who taught that Jesus Christ was not God, but a superior man created by God. Today some, who still call themselves Christians, like the Jehovah Witness continue to defend and teach the Arian heresy. Other branches that also teach it are the unitarians, who do not believe in Trinity, but say that God is only one Person, and not three Persons. They continue to judge with the limitation of the human mind, and not with the Biblical teaching, which is the Revelation of God, the only who is infallible.
We can understand that human reason cannot conciliate that one being, can be three Persons, but one God, because in our dimension each being is a person, with one body, one soul, and one spirit. However, in the dimension of God, the Spirit can continue to be one only being and three Persons, as the Bible shows us. There are passages which defend the Trinity, but it is safer to learn the doctrine of each one of the three Persons. We must see Jesus Christ – Yahshua as the Creator of the universe, John 1:3 – Colossians 1:16-17, or see how the Holy Spirit is who teaches us, who suffers, and who intercedes for us, which are attributes of a person, John 14:16 – Romans 8:26.
Melchizedech is another example of the divinity of Jesus, from who it is said in the Biblical history that was without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days no rend of life, but made like the Son of God, remains priest continually. John 1:1 may be the more profound Bible Text that tells how Jesus was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God, and that through Him all things were made. And further, John himself tells us that, that same Word became flesh and dwelt among us, vs. 14.
It is a shame to see how some groups that proclaim themselves Christians, which we have mentioned earlier, have got to the point of modifying their own versions of their Bibles to take away the reference that the Word was God, as the Jehovah Witness have intentionally done, or the non Christian interpretation of the Mormons (Church of the Later Day Saints), the Unitarian Pentecostals, and some Messianic Jews, which, as we said at the beginning become therefore as children of Arianism, and therefore should not call themselves Christians, if they do not believe in the eternity and divinity of Jesus, as well as in His humanity, and in Trinity.
THE DIVINITY OF THE SON OF GOD IN THE COUNCILS OF THE CHURCH
This year is the 1700 anniversary of the I Council of Nicaea, year 325 A.D. which determined that Arianism was heresy for opposing to the Biblical truth that Jesus is, as well as the Son of God, God made flesh, of the same substance of the Father, and therefore eternal, at the same time as a man: two natures. Also, the “Filioque Clause”: “…and from the Son” about the Holy Spirit who proceeds from the Father and from the Son, because in the Trinity there is unity of the three Persons. THE MIRACLES OF JESUS AS GOD
From all the arguments that may be considered about the divinity of Jesus Christ, I believe that His incomparable miracles are a powerful way to convince those who doubt, at least it did with those of good heart who saw them. However, the enemies of God and religious antichrists did not believe even seeing the work of God before their eyes. It is striking that many who lived the experiences of the miracles of Jesus doubted that He would be God in the flesh. To see and experience the powerful hand of God through the miracles, being His manifestation as man, and as Son of God, is transforming and convinces that He truly was God on the earth, the same as He is today in heaven. “Then He said to Thomas: Reach your finger here, and look at My hands, and reach your hand here and put it into My side. Do not be unbelieving, but believing. And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and My God!” Then Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:26-29.
KEY BIBLE TEXTS ABOUT THE DIVINITY AND ETERNITY OF JESUS CHRIST – YAHSHUA
“I am the light of the world – it should be applied to the Hanukkah, the light is Yahshua the Messiah” John 8:12. I am the living bread which came down from heaven, John 6:51. I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6. “…Before Abraham was, I am”. John 8:48-58.
In Matthew 28, Mark 13 or Luke 24:52 Jesus accepts to be worshiped several times. Worship is only permitted to the only God in God’s Law, therefore, those who worshiped Him saw clearly that Jesus was God made man.
John 20:28 Thomas, the unbelieving apostle calls the risen Jesus: My Lord and My God!
In 1 Corinthians 15:6 Paul tells how Jesus appeared risen to more than 500 brethren at once, another proof of His divinity, to appear and disappear from this dimension.
Colossians 1:15-17 says that He is the image of the invisible God, and that by Him all things where created, in heaven and on earth, that all was created through Him and for Him.
Philippians 2:6: “…Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
This is a Text of great relevance which explains to us how Jesus, who already existed before the foundation of the world, and who created it, for love to us decided to leave the place next to the Father, come to this world, taken part of His divinity to take human form, be born of virgin Mary, His human mother, and once made man, limit Himself and humiliate until death for us, because we could not justify ourselves, nor save ourselves, nor make justice, nor good deeds to save ourselves, because we cannot reach the divine justice, which is perfect, needed to be with God, who is just according to his divine and holy perfection of His fullness. This is the reason why, His death on the cross reaches the forgiveness of our sins through His work, by faith, through His grace. What more can we ask God? Which religion proposes to man something similar? Paul calls it, the foolishness of preaching”, or the foolishness of the Cross, 1 Corinthians 1:18, which is precisely what we preach, that man cannot save himself for eternal life and needs a Saviour, who is Christ, the Lord himself. All religions of the world demand what must be done. Jesus gives His life for us and if we accept Him by faith, we have eternal life because His Spirit comes to dwell in us and does the daily work of sanctification in us, if truly we Love Him as He loved us; He does the work, not us.
The best Christmas present is the salvation of God. Jesus has already gifted it to us; we only have to open our present and accept it by faith. And for those of us who have already done so, to give this present to others, preaching the Gospel to make disciples; even if they hate us, or persecute us, even though they don’t realise that they don’t reject us, but God. Our Christmas present is to preach the divinity of Jesus Christ – Yahshua through the Gospel that proclaims Child Jesus, God made man.
CONCLUSION
The fact that Jesus is God made man, and that He continues to be God in the throne of glory, changes all the perspective of man with regards to Him; John 16:25-33. In fact, Jesus Christ told Nicodemus, in John 3:3-13, when He was telling him of the need to be born again, that the Son of Man was with him there and at the same time as in heaven, an attribute called omnipresence, only possible in the creating God. But, also, the fact that Jesus already existed before becoming a man seems to remain something not understood by many Christians of tradition, those who nor read, nor study the Scriptures that God gave us for that purpose. And finally, but not less incredible, there are still some who do not believe in the full humanity of Jesus, who willingly took off His divinity to experience our passions and desires in His own flesh, and to suffer death, and death of the cross in our place, as the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
Currently the famous Shroud of Turin, the Holy Shroud, is again in moth of everyone because AI has revealed even more incredible scientific information about the impossibility that it may be a work done by human hands, that techniques unknown to man may have been used, that it cannot be explained how an three dimensional imagine has remained impressed in a linen that has remains of plants and pollens of the area of Israel from some 2000 years ago. They conclude that it cannot be made, not even using the technology that we have today, without damaging the shroud itself. With this I don’t mean that we can scientifically confirm yet that the Shroud of Turin is the one that covered the Lord Jesus, but if it were, it would help sone unbelievers to comprehend what might have happened in the resurrection of Jesus Christ – Yahshua, who really is God, who can take His divine attributes or of man when and how He wants, and that He is above the creation that He created. According to the proofs of the AI, the atoms of the body that the shroud wrapped disintegrated in an instant, and a powerful radiation left the printing at such a high temperature that it should have burned the shroud, but it did not. Many scientists continue to study the phenomenon, because it does not fit into the parameters of the laws of physics.
That same man-God whose body could be the one of the Holy Shroud, was that Child Jesus who came some 2000 year ago, was God made man, is God, and the Son of God, part of that Divine composition of the Divinity called “Trinity”, that word which is not in the Bible, but that the Bible emanates through the essence of each one of the three Persons which compose it and that make on only God, and that our mind does not reach to comprehend although it is evident, as it does not reach to comprehend concepts such as “eternity”, “infinite”, “resurrection”, “without father, without mother, that does not have a beginning of life, nor an end of days, but made to the likeness of the Son of God; about Melchizedek”, or the Text chosen for this Bible Study of Christmas that tells us that, that Child that was born to us, Son was giving us, and the Principality was upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called: Admirable, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Merry Christmas! Of That divine Child who was, and is God, and who is among us always, until His return in His Second Coming to establish the Kingdom of God for eternity, to which we are called through faith in His work, through the grace of God.
